About The Author

About Me

David Butler is an honorably discharged U.S. Army Veteran whose experiences in both the military and in life have shaped him into a profound poet. Having served in various capacities, including with the 3rd Infantry Division in Germany during the fall of the Berlin Wall and later with the 1st Special Forces Group Airborne, his diverse life experiences laid the foundation for his creative expression.

Though his military career was successful, it was his personal life that led him to poetry. After enduring multiple relationships and the emotional scars of love and loss, David turned to poetry to express the deep emotions he struggled to articulate. His collection, ECHOES OF A SOLDIERS, HEART AND SOUL, consists of poems that reflect raw feelings of love, heartache, and longing, offering a window into the author’s vulnerability. David’s writing reflects moments of joy, regret, and the human desire for connection. Each poem is infused with his personal reflections, shedding light on his pursuit of love, both lost and found.

In recent years, David rediscovered these poems, which had been buried for nearly two decades, and felt compelled to share them with the world. Today, he continues to write, driven by the hope that his words will connect with others who share the same emotional struggles.
